Anchor’s powerlifting group classes for beginners and experienced lifters in Durham, North Carolina

Anchor’s classes are our OG “thing”, and are foundations for everything we try to do for lifters everywhere. Our classes are focused and always inclusive: join as you are, and become part of the supportive, progress-minded community that we’re building.

New or experienced—these classes will add pounds to your lifts in a motivating and challenging setting at Anchor’s facility in downtown Durham, NC.

We focus on the squat, bench press, and deadlift, but you’ll be doing so much more.

Open Classes

MON - WED - FRI | MULTIPLE TIMES

The Open class is just that: open to lifters that prefer a mixed group of like-minded people to progress with.

All ages and genders are welcome in these inclusive classes. It’s an ideal setting for you to build strength consistently over time with our coaches present to provide you with programming, advice, and movement tips and techniques.

Classes meet 3 days per week for 90 minutes.

Men's Classes

MON - WED - FRI | 7:30pm - 9:00pm

The Anchor men’s class builds technique and strength in a group setting. Our focus is measurable progress in the squat, bench press, and deadlift while emphasizing the other benefits of lifting in general: improving and developing yourself every day.

Classes meet 3 days per week for 90 minutes. Our coaches are there to provide you with all programming, as well as any movement tips and technique modifiers you need as you build strength.

Women's Classes

MON - WED - FRI | 5:30am - 7:00am or 4:30 - 6PM

The Anchor women’s group is focused on the pursuit of your best self through the sport of powerlifting. Strength is independent of size, shape, and personality, and the confidence gained through this process is life-changing.

The women’s class was our very first offering. We couldn’t be more passionate about bringing women into the sport of powerlifting and helping them realize all of the benefits this sport can bring to their lives.

Classes meet 3 days per week for 90 minutes. Our coaches are there to provide all of your programming, as well as movement tips and advice you’ll need as you progress.

All Are Welcome
